UTM parameters for QR codes on print, packaging & posters
Offline campaigns are hard to measure. Put a tagged short link behind every QR code and each poster, flyer or box becomes its own line in your report.
The template
utm_sourceqrMarks the click as a QR scan.
utm_mediumprintThe kind of material: print, packaging, poster, menu.
utm_campaignstore_launchWhat the print run is for.
utm_contentmumbai_store_posterWhere this exact code was placed.
In GA4 these clicks show up as Unassigned (filter by source = qr).GA4 has no offline channel, so these clicks show as Unassigned. That's fine: filter by utm_source = qr, or create a custom channel group for QR.

Tips
- Use a dynamic QR (a short link) so you can change where it points after printing.
- One code per location or print run, so you know which poster works.
- Check scans by city to see which stores or areas respond.
Common mistakes
- Printing a QR of the full tagged URL: the code gets dense and hard to scan.
- Printing a static QR you can never update.
