Client link reporting with Google Sheets: a simple setup for agencies
One tagged link per channel, a Google Sheet per client that fills itself, and a one-page summary clients actually read.

Most client reports are built on Friday afternoons from screenshots. It doesn't have to be that way. With a few habits at the start of a campaign, the click side of reporting can update itself.
1. One tagged link per channel
For every campaign, create a separate link for each place it runs: Meta ads, Google ads, the newsletter, each influencer, the QR on the standee. Use the same campaign name on all of them and a different source or content value for each.
go.client.in/diwali-meta → utm_source=meta&utm_medium=paid_social&utm_campaign=diwali_2026 go.client.in/diwali-email → utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=diwali_2026 go.client.in/diwali-riya → utm_source=riya&utm_medium=influencer&utm_campaign=diwali_2026
2. Keep each client's links together
Group links by client and campaign from day one. When reporting time comes, you're looking at one client's campaign, not searching a list of hundreds of links.
3. A sheet per client that fills itself
Connect a Google Sheet for each client and let new links and clicks land in it automatically. From there you can build a simple summary tab, or connect the sheet to Looker Studio for a live dashboard.
- Clicks by channel for the campaign.
- Top cities and devices.
- The best and worst performing link or creative.
- A comparison with the previous campaign.
Be clear in the report that these are clicks. Conversions and revenue come from GA4 or the ad platforms — which is exactly why consistent UTM tags matter.
4. A one-page summary
Clients rarely read long reports. One page with the headline number, the channel split, one insight and one recommendation is usually enough — with the live sheet linked for anyone who wants the detail.
How this looks in Stackly
Connect each client's domain, keep their links in a collection, build links from saved UTM templates and group them into campaigns. Connect Google Sheets from Integrations and clicks are added as they happen. Add teammates as Managers to build campaigns, or invite a client as a Viewer to see the numbers themselves.
